Jacaranda Mini Session in Hornsby

Mini photo sessions in Hornsby run only on set dates at one location. They are short, seasonal and booked as spots, not as a full session. This is the only mini session I can also arrange by appointment. An extra location fee of $30 applies for 2026 season.

These are images from past sessions. Not all are from jacaranda mini session, some are from full sessions too. I can’t promise the exact same background for your mini shoot. So much depends on the day, the light, the weather, and how busy the spot is. I choose the angles as we go. If there’s a particular background or shot you really want, please tell me before the session. I can’t guarantee it in a mini, but I’ll always do my best to give you the best result I can. If you have something very specific in mind, a full session is the better option since we have more time and flexibility

What It Cost Last Season

Last season the jacaranda mini was $180.
That was an $80 booking fee, non refundable, paid at reservation,
plus $100 for the digital images after the shoot.
Pricing for the new season will be announced closer to the dates.

Jacarandas in Sydney usually bloom from late October through November. It’s a short window, just a few weeks, then the purple is gone. Sydney has some famous spots for them, like Kirribilli, where whole streets turn purple. You can see the full jacaranda trail across Sydney if you want to explore more. I run my jacaranda mini sessions in Hornsby and Parramatta. I also have special locations for full sessions, more unique and unusual ones, out in the Parramatta area.

The location is about 5-7 minutes from Westfield Hornsby. I send you the exact location a day or two before your session, once I can see what the weather is doing.

The session happens at one set spot. On the day I work with the light and what the location gives us, so I pick the best backgrounds as we go. If there’s a certain look you really want, tell me before the session or book a full session.

We reschedule. Rain days happen in spring, and jacaranda photos need good light, so if the weather turns we move you to another date. If nothing works during the jacaranda season, you can put your booking toward a Christmas mini or a Mother’s Day session instead.

If it’s a light drizzle, we’ll still go ahead. I have clear umbrellas that make for pretty photos in the rain. If it really pours, I’ll reschedule, though I need 3 or more families booked to run a new date. If that date doesn’t suit you, you can put your booking toward a full session, a Christmas mini or a Mother’s Day session instead.

Yes, I’d love that. It helps if you let me know ahead of time. You’re also welcome to bring a few small things for the session, like an ultrasound photo or little baby bits.

Yes, but keep in mind a jacaranda mini session is only 20 minutes and no time for a big set up. Balloons are easy to bring. Laying out a blanket, a picnic, or building a whole scene isn’t really doable in that time.

There are 10 spots per date, and they go fast.

Hornsby is the one location where I can do an individual mini session outside the set dates, for an extra $30. Just ask and we’ll sort it out.
